Website © 2007 Abbey Web Services Page 154 Minutes of the Annual Yealand Conyers Parish Council Meeting held on the 16th May 2007 in the Quaker Meeting House, Yealand Conyers. 737 Present Cllrs Rothwell, Calnan and Mercer, Clerk D.Hancock, plus five members of the Parish. 738 Election of Chairman and officers and co-option of another councillor Cllr Rothwell was proposed as Chairman by Cllr Calnan, seconded by Cllr Mercer. Cllr Calnan agreed to be vice chairman and to continue as LAPTC representative and lengthsman liaison Officer. Cllr Jackson is the AONB representative. Cllr Mercer would continue to be the Village Hall representative. Cllr Rothwell proposed that Jane Panton be co-opted onto the Parish Council. This was seconded by Cllr Calnan. Declarations of acceptance of office were signed. 739 Election expensesCouncillors had returned the election expenses and financial interest forms. 740 Apologies Apologies were received from Cllr Jackson. 741 Minutes of the meeting held on 7th March 2007 These were approved and signed by the Chairman Cllr Rothwell. 742 Matters arising There were no matters arising. 743 Police Report The Clerk will ask for an Annual Police Report to be presented at the next meeting. 744 Highways It was reported that a public footpath by Cherry Grove had been blocked by a large boulder. The Clerk will inform the AONB and also ascertain whether any other authorities need to be informed. Page 155 The Highways Authority will be contacted re graffiti on road signs. They will also be asked to confirm that the 30mph signs in the Parish are made legal and that the white lines are repainted at the Snape Lane junction. 755 AONB/Landscape Trust 20th Anniversary project Two quotes have been received to improve the area around the Village pond. The Parish Council will need to spend approximately £1,000 over the money already pledged. It was agreed to apply for a grant from CARP and to also approach Cllr Fishwick regarding her allowance for Village projects. Cllr Rothwell will also see if the School would be able to make a donation. Some extra money could also be found from the Council’s own fund. 756 Best Kept Village Judging is due to take place in June. Notices to be posted on the Notice Board and information on the judging criteria to be supplied in the Newsletter. Hopefully everyone will participate in presenting a tidy and well-kept village in both private and public spaces. 757 Finance Cheques were approved for £10 Best kept Village competition fee £100 Annual donation to AONB It was decided not to make any changes to the signatories on the Bank accounts. 758 Accounts 2006/2007 The Accounts for the year 2006/2007 were presented. The balance on 31.3.07 stood at Current account £247.89 Deposit account £1840.96 Petty Cash £8.78 Vat refund is now claimed annually. The Council approved the Statement of Assurance, which was signed by the Chairmen and Clerk. 759 Dates of meetings It was agreed to meet on 4th July, 5th
September and 21st November2007,
